It seems to me that I’ve spent my life designing and creating…

From a forty year career designing and making art clothing, to the never ending restoration and remodeling of my 1790s house, to landscaping and gardening that surrounds it. And now to my surprise, oil painting!

My work is inspired by the open rolling hills, old farms, historic structures and skies of this gorgeous area of southern Washington Co. NY. I like to explore and play with the shapes and colors of the landscape, blending realism and impressionism with the goal of simplicity. I mainly work from photos I’ve taken while driving or walking, occasionally from pleinaire and sometimes from my imagination.
